When some people look at a room with nothing in it they see impracticality. Others see space, freedom and beauty.
When I look at a room with nothing in it I see it as a restriction.
Now some people would class life with restrictions as a bad thing. I too for many years believed the same thing.
I used to look through the catalogues and wished I owned everything in it. In fact in some cases I wish I had the same item more than once.
What I have come to find in adult life is that the more we have the more we want. Not only that but the more we get doesn’t make use any happier. In fact it has the opposite effect.
So that is the case does that mean the less we have the happier we will be?
With this blog, I hope to record my journey into minimalism. To see if life can really be better by self imposing retrictions that lead to freedom from stuff and a happier life.
My journey today starts tomorrow when I should fingers crossed complete on the first purchase of my own house.
More to follow tomorrow.
